I like this book for several reasons. It's a great mystery story but it also challenges the hard topics of paedophilia and child abuse. Because these subjects are so uncomfortable, people often want to smack them down and have nothing to do with them. Unfortunately this only leads to shame both for the abuser and the abused. Thankfully there were no graphic active child abuse scenes, but the topic and the industry is still explored at length in what I thought was quite a fair and compassionate way.

A great read. Very icky subject matter, but tastefully handled with the focus on teenagers rather than little kids. I've read the last few books in this series and am now trying to get all the early ones done before the new one comes out. I'm really enjoying how the flawed character of Lena is developing. Very engaging story of recovery. I was bawling while reading one of her scenes yesterday. Looking forward to reading more of this series.

I don't know where to start with this one.

This was a difficult book to read, because of the subject matter. But it was so well written and I couldn't put it down!

this was a a dark read but woven beautifully.

I mean...wow!

I had Karin Slaughter on my TBR for years and never picked her books up. Always meant to, even had a few on my shelf but they sat there...waiting....like a long lost friend. That's not a good comparison but it is what it is.

Karin Slaughter can write. She can write and really make me feel what her characters are going through and how they are feeling. Gritty and raw and tough to read, not going to lie. Her books are definitely not binge worthy, that's for sure.

And so, her next few sit on my shelf for a while longer yet...

It was a good book but I think that despite the problem it raised I will quite quickly forget it

I LOVE this series!! I don't think i've loved a series like this since the vampire academy series! Sara, Jeffery and Lena are amazing and I love reading about them! The plot in this book was so disgusting and gross and I had to keep reading. The mystery was so interesting!
