the hunger games!!! ofcourse I would like this book, I've seen the movie countless time and it was interesting to see how that effected my reading enjoyment. I think i prefer the book, all the little things it has that the movie left out. Katniss is definitely the most different. in the movie she is, imo, presented as this girlboss. but here she is definitely red as this child that was forced to grow up to protect those she loves...

This is my re-read review. I read the series in print initially in 2011/2012 as a high schooler. This re-visit was through audiobook, which was such an enjoyable way to re-experience these books. Over a decade later and they still hold up. Re-reading this book and the rest of the series got me back into reading. They reminded me of the power books hold to bring us hope and courage when our own world feels dystopian. Katniss will always be one of my favorite strong FMCs.
