Slow beginning but overall an enjoyable read. I'm not usually a murder mystery thriller gal, but there were lots of interesting twists and turns that kept me curious about what was coming next, even though I'm not sure the whole sequence of events was really made good sense. There was some interesting commentary on sex and gender kind of woven throughout this take on the cult indoctrination narrative.

I couldn’t put this book down. Serious trigger warning for SA, DV, trauma/cult stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the ending.

There were definite some points where I wanted to hit my head against a wall with our main character, but I don't think thats a bad thing. It keeps you reading, and I think it was a fun and accurate portrayal of someone who has been indoctrinated and traumatized. Fun spooky vibes to start off October!
