Audio. Trigger warning ‼️

Trash. Hogwash. Filth. Incoherent.
Do. Not. Bother.

There are some great reviews about how completely horrendous this book is. Find them. Take heed.

I’ve spent too much time here already. Moving wasaaay on.

this was thrilling, chilling, and compulsively readable. I couldn't put it down and the best fiction book I've read in a while.

Amazing!!! My favorite trope in thrillers is the “true crime podcast retelling” while the story unfolds! I got lucky picking up this book! Started slow but interesting then really picked up in the second act when Shay started to disclose what happened in second act. Don was terrifying and putting together the book title was actually so sad. Really loved the main character (Shay) oddly enough and the final act was everything I could’ve hoped for! God the plot twists were insane, I found myself sitting up and gasping for air at times.

Loved loved loved!

Wow, I haven’t given a one star review. I should have known when I was uncomfortable after the first few pages but I let the almost 4 star review convince me to read and that there would be amazing twists and thrills along the way. Well not my type of thrills. The main themes are not my jam. I don’t even know what else to say because I’m just disturbed mostly. This review is just based on my own opinion and interests, I know others whom would love this story line. Not for me though. Onto the next.

I knew this book would be dark, but I didn't realize it would be THIS dark. If you, in any way, struggle with reading about sexual violence, rape, gender essentialism, misogyny, suicide, or self-harm, I urge you to be very careful before picking this up, as it doesn’t hold back.

With that being said, I thought the story was interesting and it held my attention. I liked the podcast aspect and thought it added to the story quite well. If you want something that will make your skin crawl and make you think about misogyny in a very dark way, this is for you. I’m probably going to be thinking about it for quite a long time.
