Snowden is a thoughtful man, and this is a thoughtful book. I have watched 2 different movies based on the events of this book. Screenplays have more "fluff". This book is more polished and in-depth of what happened and the why.
A interesting side effect.; What does a author in exile do for a book tour? He did an over 2 hour podcast. Joe Rogan Experience #1368 - Really outstanding.

Now I want to read some of the books that have come from the leaks. I believe I have an understanding of the overview but I should go into the technical details. Which because he did what he did, I can.

While it does provide insight to the morality of the man who practically sacrificed his life, a large portion of the book, detailing Edward Snowden's upbringing, is mostly unnecessary volume.

The most interesting parts in the book, in my opinion, were Snowden's humanist philosophy on privacy in the 21st century, as well as his first person description of the events that unfolded, from leaking the data to being forced into exile.

All in all, I found the book fascinating.

This was well-written. Edward Snowden can add poet to his long list of capabilities. I totally appreciated his ability to explain complex technology in easy to understand analogies.

Snowden has written a thorough and interesting account of his life, how he became the person that almost everyone has heard about. There are no new "leaks" in the book. (Snowden defines a "leaker" as someone who acts in their own personal interest only, whereas a whistleblower like himself acts for the good of the public. That's why I put the quotation marks around "leaks".) The book is not too technical at all and the author does a pretty good job of explaining it all for the casual reader. Often times I wished he'd get even deeper into some of the topics, but given the context it's understandable he cannot do that.
