This was a very inspiring and humble interpretation of religion. It was often uncomfortably religious for me at times, but that is no fault of the author. Her passion and faith is inspiring.

You can choose to be angry about the ways her theology doesn't gel with yours, the word choice you would've preferred, the interpretations you recognize over the ones that are unfamiliar and therefore unwelcome to you.
Or you can see it for the simple story it is: A woman who has been met by grace, witnessing others who have been met by grace, and continues to create spaces where people can be met by grace. Jesus over all.

A somewhat loosely organized collection of essays, but remarkable for its balance of orthodox gospel truth and salty, mature writing. I'm definitely a fan and wish for more books like this.

I picked this book randomly from my library thinking it would be a funny historical book about famous saints from the past. Boy was I wrong!
I found every chapter encouraging. Nadia also gave me some new ideas I'd never considered (like what it actually means to "be Jesus" for someone).
I agree with other reviewers here: she doesn't depart from simple, traditional Christian theology (except through her cussing). She simply provides case studies and some sermons that I found fun and enlightening. This is a good book even for conservative Christians.

A collection of essays/anecdotes by a non traditional (tattooed, cussing, woman) Lutheran pastor. About seeing and accessing God’s grace through the messed up people around us, including ourselves. Makes me think, not for the first time, that in our quest to stay on the strait and narrow, holding to the rod, within temple covenants, we Mormons sometimes fail to truly engage with the mysterious, counterintuitive, saving doctrines of Christ.

Lots of short chapters, reads kind of like devotionals or someone's journal entries. I enjoyed it and found it moderately uplifting.
