This book is so funny! These kids go away, and have an awesome weekend! The pictures and text dont go together which I find super funny! I would give this to kids who can notice that difference! It is funny, and has some good messages. You can have fun anywhere! Ages 6 and up.

Cartoony/ Tintin-style illustrations share the adventures two boys have with their grandparents. Really love the imagery here.

Of all Marla Frazee's books, this is the most likely to appeal slightly more to the adult reader. My opinion on this seems to be reflected in the average star ratings here. I admire this book, and I expect kids will find it unusually 'quiet'.

“A Couple of Boys Have The Best Week Ever” written and illustrated by Marla Frazee is a story about two young boys, James and Eamon. They spend the week at Eamon’s grandparents house and attend a nature camp together during the day. The two get into all kinds of shenanigans throughout the week and they’re encouraged to have fun by Eamon’s grandparents. Frazee’s story teaches the importance of exploring and trying new things and appreciating nature. It’s full of witty jokes and would definitely make any group of older students laugh. I could see myself reading this book to my future students before summer break.

This was so cute. I loved the intentional disconnect between the text and the speech bubbles or pictures. It was a very cartoonish illustration style, but wasn't too simplistic. Everything just worked well together.

I honestly couldn't find a reason for the story to exist... let alone be published. If anyone does, let me know. It was almost as if it was speaking a language I didn't know.

This book has lots of funny bits, and the illustrations are cute. My only problem with it was that it's a little slow getting started--I had to read the first page several times to get all the names and relationships to stick in my head.

Despite me not necessarily "really liking" the story (maybe I just need to read it again!), I am a big fan of Marla Frazee's unique style of illustration. Love her work!

This unpredictable and quirky book is a mix of silly, fast paced observations of boyhood and simple, comic-book-like illustrations. The book starts out like usual book-- two boys going to "nature camp." But it soon becomes clear that this book is unusual. The boys love playing inside much more than being at nature camp!

Frazee's darling picture book is full of dry and witty humor and doesn't pretend that boys don't love playing video games and watching TV. Sometimes the text and pictures don't tell the exact story, which makes it even the funnier. A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever is a cute book for adults or children.
