If you're looking to be disturbed, yes, this book certainly does that. Don't pick this up if you are easily triggered by gore or abuse. I found the messages surrounding not fitting in with society and the effects of TV on happiness intriguing. The bestiality and excrement themes throughout were quite unpleasant. Lucy's end was sad but fitting. Props to the author for being brave enough to get this published.

Super fucked up. I felt disgusting reading this. Wonderfully written and engaging in horrific ways. Five stars.

Not a single sentence of this was redeeming. If someone ever tells you they like this book, please run far away from them

There is something here. Beneath the shit piss cum deluge this book insists you wade though, there is something. Maybe commentary on abuse and isolation in society. I can't tell you. Had to stop a third of the way in.
Mostly I kept asking myself what the point was. It wasn't really the gross out shit that did it for me but the unrelenting meanspirited description of every fat person in the story, particularly the Beast. Like being fat is somehow as horrible as some guy getting his face sliced open while he was kissing a cow? OKAY. Anyway dnf

A cow calling someone a slur was so out of left field it ruined the rest of the book for me and completely ruined the rating.
