Plodding and dull. I like survival novels, but this was hardly exciting. There is an odd sort of charm to it, which might have earned its classic status, but I probably won't read it again.

given the many repetitions and incoherences i am convinced even Defoe didn’t proofread his own book bc of how boring it was

Slow paced but not as sluggish as I had thought it to be. The only unwarranted repetition in my opinion is the journal entries for the first year. The realism and how Robinson Crusoe uses the Word of God to console and empower himself is expected but still nice to see play out
