Dragons of Chaos by C.R. Robertson picks up where the last book in the series, Dragons of Fate, left off. Justus – the assassin of the former Elders has found his mate. But wait! There’s a twist and boy is a big one! The war continues between the Gaians and the krakens. The group of Gaians that we have been following are still discovering who they truly are and the depths of their powers and abilities. Justus now has his own problems and decisions to deal with. He’s found his mate, but is he willing to take that step after the tragedy that surrounds his mother so many years ago? Things are just complicated all around, but can everything fall in place so that they can come together to defeat the enemy that threatens the entire world?
Dragons of Chaos is an engaging story that follows Justus and his mate Celeste. The last book ended with her discovery and this book gives us the clue as to how she ended up in the situation that she is found in. But of course, the author doesn’t make it THAT simple. There’s more and I loved the twist that the author gives us with these two fated dragons. I have to admit that while nothing has been simple for the others due to what all they have each suffered, there is more to this pairing which for me, makes it more unique and engaging. While none of the stories have focused solely on the pair who is the main focus, I like that this story gives us basically everyone as they each handle a variety of situations.
Now, while I did enjoy this story I do have a couple small complaints. I know that this is going to sound super twisted but I wanted a reaction from Lucifer. He experiences a couple of losses in this book thanks to the Gaians and the gods’ interference or help, however you want to view it, and I wanted him to show up and demand compensation. For me, it feels like things go just a little too smoothly when things that he prizes are essentially taken from him or destroyed. I understand that he may be lenient because these are friends of his nephew, but I wanted a reaction even if it created chaos between them. It was something I honestly hoped for especially after the second incident and nothing came. Also, I appreciate that the author has the women in certain scenes acknowledge their childish behavior, but I wish that there had been less of it. I get it. I understand it, but one time…I can deal with but beyond that…I expect them to have more sense.
At the end of the day, I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the twists and the overall storyline. It is engaging and I like the romance angle and that not everything goes perfectly for the main characters, but I wanted a bit more drama and intensity. I wanted certain situations followed up on, and I was disappointed with the childishness of the women in certain scenes as well. If you enjoyed the previous books and are eager to get to the big build-up before the breaking of war, then I suggest you pick this book up and catch up.

I've said it before and I'll say it again." This woman knows how to write a story and breath life into it"
I have just visited different planes, lived with dragon
s and been chased by a horny hellhound.
I've felt compassion for a pregnant Kraken and been confused by a satanical pink dragon.
And oh boy is there So much more.
I cannot recommend this book, this series enough.❣💜🧡💛
