The poet does a great job at blending the personal and the political. Although a couple of the poems were challenging to read, this collection was overall accessible.

Brown writes in a style unlike what I have read before. I love how he takes what can seem mundane: heartache, love and write in a way which makes it new. I liked the cadence of the poem, and how he played with tone throughout. I will definitely be reading more of his work.
