Kafka really said "would you still love me if I was a bug?"
In this book, the answer to that was a resounding no
If you haven't read it and want to kill 2 hours, it's a good book. Personally I threw on the audiobook to listen to in the background.
The book wasn't particularly grand itself, but it excelled at posing questions and commentary for readers to ruminate on.
I can see why it's widely read and discussed. It goes into themes of the extent of affection, social isolation, and loss of self.
I also feel like it was a commentary on disabilities and that the book showcases some of the emotional and physical struggles that one might face.
