This is like my 3rd 4 star rating in a raw LOL I'm just handing them out at this point. Mockingjay dragged the triangle when from book one, we knew that Peeta was endgame but complaints about Katniss being whiny and a figurehead seem a bit... eh, she's a 17 year old with unresolved trauma and just desperately wants her sisters and friends to live; she's been thrown into a situation that literally out of her control and so much rests on her, OFC she's going to be a bit annoying and self centered about it.

Were there persons who had it worse, obviously but what 17 year old has the maturity to compartmentalize and push forward like that. I enjoyed this book and I'm glad she
killed Coin in the end
because that was a hot mess waiting to happen. I

God, Suzanne Collins is now one of my favorite authors. She created these wonderfully complex, complicated characters that are realistic. Although Mockingjay took me a long time to get into (until around 30%), the sequence of events and the how the characters develop are tense and heartbreaking. The ending is definitely one of my favorites, and I will be staring at the wall for a few hours processing this entire 5-star series.

I have never read a book series where I have given each book five stars and today is the day that has changed. While I love many book series, I am also the first to admit when that book series slacks in one book or doesn’t, but when looking back at this book series I cannot find one moment where it is lacking something. Suzanne Collins perfectly has written a series that does not disappoint, leave you wondering, have slow moments (and vice versa, too fast moments), etc. She provides hope and pain perfectly and gives a realistic example of how war is. Katniss and Peeta’s story had always been one of my favorites on the screen but now reading it and getting more of it, makes me love them even more. Each character in this series was written with so much in mind and it makes me feel as if I knew them personally (and I love when a book does that). Joanna and Finnick I love you both!! This will definitely be a series to me that I reread over and over again and share with others.
