This book perfectly rounded of the trilogy, by Katniss defeating the capital. I thought it was very fast paced and intense. It was interesting how in this book Effie was barely mentioned but in the movie she was there in district 13. Also, some parts of the book went too fast I couldn’t fully appreciate what was happening and it got a bit confusing at times where the star squad were. Despite that I thought the characters were written really well and the plot was intense.

A good sequel and good closure for Katniss. Would like a sequel focused on another character too, showing what happens to Panem next.

Really struggled to finish this. I was a huge fan of the first two in the series so I thought this was going to be good but I was wrong. Stupidly slow pace in the beginning but in the last 80ish pages everything started going so fast I couldn't keep up. Nothing was explained clearly enough, characters were dropping dead like flies and I had to watch the film to actually understand the ending! I still don't know who half of the characters are, I finished the book and was glad it was over with, took me three months though. Wouldn't recommend.

I really do like this book (though I like the first two better), and Tatiana Maslany was an incredible narrator. However, this final book in the trilogy is just relentless darkness and trauma and it was really hard to take on this read through.

Overall I love this series but I did feel this book was weakest. I love a lot of the choices but I wasn't sold on some character decisions, as well as how the worldbuilding felt by the end of the series.
