I think I can confidently say that Dystopian is just isn't for me. I wanted to finish reading this series because I wanted to know what happened.

I had a major revelation while reading this book. I no longer enjoy reading morally grey MCs. I've changed a lot since a few years ago. Not as much as I did before. I'm a little disappointed because I genuinely do think that morally grey characters are important and bring critical complexity that non-morally grey characters just lack. However, I've found that for present me, reading from the POVs of morally grey characters just exhaust and bore me. I really hope I'm mistaken but change happens.

I think the pacing also demotivated me. The ending was not bad at all though.

I feel like I vibed with this one less than the other two but still a worthy entry. The last line goes so hard.

There's no much to add from the previous books, to be honest.

It lost me at some point, when the Holo was introduced. But I reconnected with it after it, I even shed tears alongside Katniss. Felt her losses.

Would have loved to live a little more in their new world, but that wouldn't feel much like an ending, would it.

Anyways, I absolutely loved this series. I love Peeta, and I love Katniss, and I want them to live as happy as they can be.

I loved this book so much that I hate it! I finished this right before I have to get ready for work and I cried like a baby. I definitely would recommend this to everybody!

this book absolutely broke me. oh my goodness. i didn’t expect it to be so depressing.

okay, first off, peeta. he’s had to go through so much. i cried when he tried to choke katniss. it was just so sad seeing how badly he was tortured. honestly, it was worse than death. i was glad when his humanity slowly started coming back. obviously, he was never really the same. the nightmares and traumas never go away. i just wish i could reach through the book and hug him

katniss. katniss had a really rough time. first her father, then rue, then cinna, then peeta, finnick, and prim, and even gale somewhat. throughout the whole series, she had been forced to play Games. even in the rebellion, she was just part of coins games. she never really got to get away. she experienced so much trauma and grief—too much for a 17 year old. we see her experience suicide attempts, depression, and all sorts of trauma. even after she got married and had kids, she wasn’t necessarily happy or at peace. the Games will always be a part of her.

gale. if you are team gale, i suggest you don’t keep reading this. gale should’ve died. he should’ve died instead of finnick. i will forever hate gale. he didn’t even try to save peeta’s family. he created the weapon that killed prim. he’s heartless. he didn’t try to save finnick, or even let katniss try. honestly, he should’ve died instead of finnick. plus, it would create a better storyline since katniss “loved” gale. i will forever be team peeta. gale doesn’t understand or show any sympathy to peeta or even katniss after the Games. does he not know what the suffered? anyways, as you can tell i think gale is jealous of peeta and let that take over his life.

finnick. oh finnick. i love him so much. in my heart, he’s still alive. he was probably my favorite character. he’s definitely one of my fictional husbands. i feel so bad for annie. i was so happy for them. i wonder if finnick even knew about the baby. he didn’t deserve to die like that. it infuriates me. he could’ve lived happily with his family after snow and coin died. he was so close to making it out alive. i’m just so depressed and frustrated about his death. he deserved better, so did annie and the baby.

i was actually mad about finnicks death. this goes along with cinna as well. they got pretty much a singular paragraph, if that, about their deaths and then everyone moved on. i will never move on from their deaths. in my opinion, finnicks death was 3 times worse and more depressing than prims. it actually enrages me.

overall, i really liked this series. it didn’t make me feel happy though. i felt dissociated and mournful during the series. it makes me sad knowing, even though katniss and peeta had a somewhat happy ending, they could never actually be truly happy. they can never forget what happened. not just in the games, but during the rebellion, when peeta got hijacked, the death of loved ones, it will never go away, and it never can.
