I struggles with the first few chapters until I could read and decipher the slang, but this a wonderful story. What a life the marsh girl lived, from an abandoned child to a recognized author, writing and painting the life in the marsh. I felt the town folk would never had accepted her had it not been for the trial. Although, I was wrong with my thinking Tate killed Chase. The greatest thing was Kya getting released to go back to her marsh. This books ends with love and death.
