Enjoyable addition to the series.

I think I feel committed to this series and I enjoy the mysteries. But I find Maisie and so much of the classist nonsense annoying.

Lovely, thought provoking, beautifully written. I love these sojourns to the past in England. Tensions of class, race, war all swirling in the air, with everyday lives and loves, trials and triumphs.

Excellent, lovable, detailed characters, perhaps a little too much detail at times.

Can’t tell if it fell a bit plodding because of the way I read it (took over 2 weeks, very on and off) or because the plot was a bit clumsy. But still interesting to see Maisie and the other characters develop and move toward new experiences.
dark mysterious

Still love me some Maisie Dobbs. :)

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

A bit transitional. Maisie's changing and the story is a little clunky in this one. Curious about where she's headed though.
