Pripomínalo mi to trochu The Queen od Kiery Cass. Hoci teda už Red queen mala trochu spoločného so Selekciou (a aj tak to bolo absolútne brilantné.)
Ten koniec!

This novella blew my mind!! I already hated Elara but now I realise how psycho crazy she truly was. I loved reading about the relationship between Tibe and Coriane! It was so cute, not at all like the king we know from the other books in the series. I wish we could learn a lot more about them. Ugh this book was just too short!
Also her love for baby Cal was the cutest thing ever.

Honestly there needs to be a sequel to this novella! I need more Julian and Sara and I want to know what happend after the last chapter! Those bits and pieces of information from the other books are not enough!

This short novel (a prequel to the Red Queen) which tells the story of Coriane (Cal's mother) made me realize I don't particularly like the writing style of Aveyard. It is not as pretentious as John Green, but there is still a feeling of trying to hard. It is a bit too formal. There is just something about it that I don't particularly love. However; it also made me realize I am actually really enjoying the story of the Reds and the Silvers. I found myself constantly thinking about these characters and it hit me "Oh crap, I'm invested!" Not invested enough to BUY the books, but enough to be on the waiting list at the library for the 2nd installment.

One last thing, even at the end of this story, I was still a little confused on Elora's role in everything. What did she do? Did she actually do anything?

This was a bit confusing first, it took some time to remember what's this world and who were these characters. It could have been explained a bit more so it would have been easier to relate to the story & characters. And especially thinking how this was the novella 0.1 in the series and some might start with this story.

Soon after the beginning it was easier to feel for Coriane, who felt herself as an outsider. This had some darker undercurrents, even though the story could have been even a bit darker.

For a short novella this was a decent read and a bit twisted ending made it for me.

Loved!

I love the insight you get into Cal's mom. The ending just made me angry lol Just.....Elara 😠 But overall, awesome! Especially to someone who doesn't normally read novellas.

I read Red Queen first and was really excited when I realized it was a series. I like this one even better because it gets into the psychology of the Queen, of Cal’s mother. So excited to read the next one of the series!
