I'm cautiously optimistic about this series, because of this novella. The writing sucked me in from the get go, very descriptive without being overwhelming. The plot itself didn't make much sense, and from what I can tell from answered questions, it would have been better if I had read [b:Red Queen|22328546|Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)|Victoria Aveyard|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1449778912s/22328546.jpg|25037051] first. The "superpowers" sound interesting and the ruling system is a bit of a unique twist on what I've seen before in the dystopian genre. All in all, a confusing, yet interesting start to a new series!
Imala sam problema na početu - znam ga još uvek napamet : As usual , Julian gave her a book . Just like the year before etc. - da vas ne smaram .
Možete da pročitate i serijal bez novela . Nije vam nešto najpotrebnije u životu .

It was interesting to see a little of the background on Cal's parents.
Atmospheric addition. Silvers aren't terribly good narrators, but she tried.
So... Did Elara get in Coriane's mind or not? Was Elara's whisper power stronger than Coriane's singer power? How did Elara lie to Coriane in the garden? So many questions left.
This was a nice exploration of both Queen Coriane and Cal's father, King Tiberias. He was not such a bad guy after all. I wish it went more into Julian and Sara's relationship as well. From the time frame given I would have expected them to have been married.
Overall, a nice prequel novella into some of the minor characters of Red Queen.

We all knew that Elara was mean. But after reading this book, I change my mind. Elara is evil.

dark
sad
Well that was a sad little tale. I liked that Tiberius V had a non traditional romance setup. His male lover was an acknowledged and important part of the royal family just like his militaristic queen.
slow-paced
It was really good, but I wish it was longer and had more details.
