It’s a fun “self-contained” story you don’t need the other context of JJK to enjoy, but now re-reading it after watching season 1 & 2, it definitely makes it more enriching!

the way so many abusive ships (such as satosugu) tend to be the most popular and mainstream in fandom culture really shows that society has an extremely weird, warped and toxic view on interpersonal relations, regardless if it's platonic or not. it's gross seeing humans glorify, idealize and romanticize various abusive friendship and relationship dynamics that they see in media without pausing to think and reflect on it or criticize it (if any at all). it definitely says a lot about all the friendship and relationship issues that always happen in real life lmfao, it's very eye opening. jjk 0 focuses on yuta's personal journey and story but i'm not surprised that satosugu shippers took over and made it all about their ship after seeing some scattered crumbs. they have the worst habit of assuming that the entirety of jjk revolves around their ship and it's extremely comical to see their self-inflicted meltdowns caused by their delusions, hallucinations and far-fetched, baseless fanon theories which they love to claim as canon.

anyway, this prequel was alright even though i like the main student characters here more than the trio in the original series. protagonist yuta + first year trio inumaki panda maki supremacy.

ugly monkey geto made me laugh, what a flop.
seeing gojo kill geto really satisfied me, peak karma tbh. besides, kenjaku is a better villain than geto. i love that geto, a forgettable minor side character in the main series, only became an important and useful character after death and it's all thanks to kenjaku.

This book is amazing for anime lovers, the beginning is kind of boring but its worth it. I personally love this book and I read it every day. Its super funny but pretty violent. If you like anime then you would love this book.

”Rika isn’t cursing you. You cursed Rika.”

”Jujutsu Kaisen” has been on my TBR for quite some time now (around a couple of years at this point 😅) — so I’m soo glad that I finally got around to starting it!

ੈ✩‧₊˚

While I’m not completely enamored with this world / its characters yet — this prequel volume (of sorts) was certainly intriguing! :)
