"She’s like…waking up on Christmas morning when you’re three years old and you finally understand what it’s all about. She’s the moment the rain stops and the sun comes out, lighting up the sky with color, and everything smells new and fresh. She’s the first skate on a frozen lake, surrounded by snowy mountains and pine trees and the freshest breath of air. She’s rolling over in the middle of the night, pulling that warm body into yours and curling around it, and everything’s just right."

It's easy to fall into the charms of one of the biggest hockey players there is, especially ones that look like Carter Beckett. On the outside, he's everything you assume about your stereotypical jock... Gorgeous obviously, arrogant, self absorbed, and the biggest playboy. Everything he wants he gets... except for Olivia Parker.

Olivia doesn't have time for Carter's playboy antics and flirting. As pretty as he is to look at, there's no point, because he doesn't do relationships. Ollie is hanging on by a thread, trying to resist him... but his charms and big heart are making her consider him...

THIS BOOK WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN I COULD HAVE EXPECTED. Kudos to Becka Mackfor being the first author to make me cryyyy while reading a hockey romance.

I loved these characters. ALL OF THEM. Carter is your classic reformed playboy and I loved it. I have never read a more lovesick, sappy, swoony, golden retriever man in a book. He is ostentatious (which he proudly owns), gooey, hotter than sin, and so in love with Olive it's insane. I adored Olive.. She is fierce and takes no bullshit.. especially from Carter. Her constantly putting him in his place is hilarious. I wish the fact that she is short is talked about less.. it gets a bit old after a while, but either way I was able to get over it. I really appreciate that a good majority of this book is focused on them trying to build a relationship, and the chase didn't drag on for too long at all. It was genuinely just a great story about them falling for each other.

One of my favorite parts about this book, is the dynamics with all the characters. The boys are the team are IDIOTS. And I mean that in the most endearing way possible. Their antics are so funny, more than often juvenile, but they really do love and support each other. I am just waaaaiting for Adam's book. Cara is literally the ideal best friend, she is badass. But my absolute favorite side character is easily Hank. Carter's 80ish year old best friend. Their relationship will bring tears to your eyes and fill you with so much love.

This a fantastic sports romance>, it has everything you could ever want great side characters, a big found family, golden retriever MMC, and so much spice. I love this and I cannot wait for the rest of the boys stories.

Well, Carter Beckett might have made his way into my Top 5 Book Boys Of All Time. A hockey man who is gentle when he needs to be and…not gentle when he needs to be? Love.

I really enjoyed this book, although I could’ve done without the constant reminders about Olivia’s size, the “scandal” towards the end, and the fact that he proposed at Cara’s wedding (even though he had approval…and it was definitely Cara’s idea to begin with, I just know it).

Her wide eyes lock on mine, cheeks blazing, hand hanging there in midair, holding on to a…A goddamn Oreo. Woman’s my f**king soul mate.

She’s like waking up on Christmas morning when you’re three years old and you finally understand what it’s all about.

I want to be better, not only for her, but for myself too.

🏒 MC growth; development of healthy communication, issues with self worth & trust.
🏒 Consent & Sex Positive
🏒 Epilogue
🏒 One of my all time favourite book boyfriends 🙌🏻
🏒 Comfort read (read 4 times this year); I skip the 🚩 sections…
🏒 Book 2 & 3 are 4 & 5 ⭐️ reads

🏒 Partial spoiler
Chapters 34-46 read like the HEA epilogue & needed to be shortened/moved in order to make the reconciliation post miscommunication trope believable. I enjoyed reading about the MCs’ life together but these chapters didn’t move the story forward, they made the MMC not communicating in later chapters not believable as the relationship was so solid.

🚩 FMC is a teacher & is sexually harassed or propositioned by male students on multiple occasions. This is dealt with using basic behaviour management when it should go straight to the principal & be dealt with seriously not laughed off. The FMC’s best friend jokes that “all those senior boys wanna get between her luscious thighs”, joking about adult/minor relationships & the sexual harassment her friend is dealing with at work. This needed to be better thought out as the joking encouraged this behaviour.

Available on Kindle Unlimited.

⚠️ Death of a parent (not on page), violence (ice hockey related), pregnancy, car accident (not on page), infidelity (not MC), sexism (via secondary characters), sexual harassment (students towards a teacher.

Wow, Tik Tok got it right with this one! I really really enjoyed reading this book. I absolutely adore Carter, he’s just a big golden retriever MMC who is obsessed with the FMC. I liked Olivia as well she works hard to overcome her anxiety and insecurities and really learn to trust and communicate with Carter. I appreciated that we really got to see growth from both Olivia and Carter through their journey as a couple. I will say this book did not need to be this long, with some editing an equally strong story could have been portrayed. That being said I Ioved this book, it was smutty and had a lot of heart! I definitely recommend reading Consider Me!

This book was several hundred pages too long. Had the author kept it a few hundred pages shorter, it might have even made it to the 4 star range but the length of the books means it includes chapter after chapter of absolutely nothing happening and stretching out what should have been a quickly resolved conflict to weeks of heartbreak over nothing. By the time the couple is back from the third act breakup, I just wanted to throw it away.

One of the reasons the length doesn’t work is that the author doesn’t find new things to share with you about these characters. They make the same mistakes over and over and she tells us seven millions time that Olivia is short, and Carter loves Oreos. It’s so repetitive that even the intimacy between the characters isn’t worth reading in detail, everything is skimmable basically after New Year’s.

There are more books coming in this series, I genuinely hope they’re shorter because I really want to know what happens for at least two of the other guys.
