I loved this book so much! It literally has everything in it. You want apocalypse? Got it. You want vampires and werewolves? Got it. Greek mythology? Got it. Christian tales? That too. King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table? You guessed it!

This book combines everything so well and there wasn't really any dull point in the book for me. I am loving the romantic side of this story, but that's not all there is to it. We get to see Jane lose her family and see how she copes with it. As well as finding a new family that opens their arms to her and accepts her as she is.

What you get:
~ A vampire knight that believes Jane is his soul mate
~ Death himself having a bond with Jane
~ Lucifer wanting Jane for the monster inside her

I found this book really interesting as a concept, but I don’t know if the first book made justice to the plot. I think the main protagonist Jane is a bit whiny, even though she is probably going through the worst time ever, it still is kind of annoying. Aside from Jane I really like the other characters and I find them interesting, every single one of the knights are lovable and even the bad guy is entertaining, although we didn’t see much of him in this first book. Clearly this book it’s an opening to this fantasy world and it really doesn’t give you as many answers as you might expect. Everything seems to be very surface level but I will read the next two books in the trilogy to make sure.

I didn’t finish this book for many different reasons. The main one being the author made a response to my negative review on TikTok. They said I should not post videos or comments “like a middle schooler”. Anyways, it didn’t sit right with me that the FMC recounted their SA and then was almost SA’d right after. Especially know this was a self-insert, that seemed extremely foul.

Honestly- this book had a bunch of trash reviews and I really loved it. I love that the FMC was HELLA relatable for me. The tears, the trauma, all of it. There are ALOT of men to keep straight but the main ones that are thrown in the most are easy to pick out. The main reasons people hated this were the huge reasons I loved it. If you didn't enjoy this book - 1. It wasn't written for you, 2. You weren't the target audience. 3. You related too much to the MC and were looking more for an escape from your own emotions and didn't need Jane's too. I loved this. I am on to the next and will have the review done when I finish it.

This book is very early 2010, throw everything and the kitchen sink at it and see what sticks. I liked the idea of the story, however there were too many elements, for any to be fully explored. It was a struggle not to DNF.
