I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a gritty, dark romance and has lots of Trigger Warnings. Please check them if you have any.
This was such a compelling story, the type where I couldn’t stop reading even when some things made me feel icky . When I picked this up I never thought this was gonna be this level of dark but in a weird way I liked it a lot.
Cash is something else, he’s a stalker, a psychopath but also a serial killer. He is obsessed with Remedy and so he’s also the type of person who will kill everyone who tries to hurt her. So if you’re looking for all of this in a Hero, you should definitely read this.
Remedy has lots of unresolved issues but through her relationship with Cash she let’s get of the past. Of course she is more morally grey than Cash but in this weird way they’re good together. He is good for Remedy and vice-versa.
Their sexy times were sometimes a bit heavy for me but I just couldn’t stop reading and although I didn’t find a couple scenes particularly enjoyable , I was right there reading and understanding these characters and seeing why they do these things to each other and in the end through their games it help Remedy is her trauma and that is beautiful. Bottom line, there’s always beauty in all the ugliness, you just have to look for it.
Now the epilogue surprised me and I don’t even know why I thought it would be different

On a DNF roll it seems, I might come back to this one. I like this author’s books a lot, this just isn’t what I’m looking for, at the moment.

This is my first book from Audrey Rush and I love Dark Romance. Remedy is more of an antiheroine she was abused as a child and has carried the scars with her she has never really healed. Cash is obsessed with Remedy when he’s not spying on her physically he’s watching her on her laptop he hacked. He manipulates things so she ends up working for him although she thinks he’s someone else who hurt her bff and she takes the job hoping to make him pay. Cash ends her blackmailing Remedy who he calls little cure into being his plaything or he will send the evidence he has to the police. Remedy has no option but to comply but she ends up liking the way he understands what she needs. I loved Cash and Remedy and their f*€ked up relationship and I’m glad things turned out the way hey did for them both.
There are a few triggers in the book so please read the authors notes before proceeding.

i wish i could rate it 100 stars cause its that damn good. both main characters are absolutely perfect. sometimes books with this type of plot turn out to be cringy and very vanilla about the characters inner darkness or the killer H starts to get softer with the progression of the book but not Cash and i love that. he was always true to himself and never really changed who he is, he simply acknowledged his feelings and accepted he couldn't go through with the original plan and adapted accordingly.
Remedy needed Cash. she needed someone like him for her life to have a real meaning to make it worth it. she needed someone to show her how to accept and be happy with herself and he gave her so much more than that. I'm truly in love with them and their story.

I’m sorry, but I just could not get into this book. I somehow managed to finish it, but the story just didn’t do it for me. I was cringing throughout many scenes in the book (gun scene and blood scene - just a couple of the many parts that were bizarre and cringeworthy).
If stalker “romance?” Is your thing, you may enjoy it, but read the trigger warnings on this one.

Only read this book if you like things a little twisted. I enjoyed it well enough, but just found it lacked a little bit of excitement maybe, Or just something to make you a bit anxious. But it was a decent read.
