If I see Kennedy Ryan's name, I'm picking it up. I don't need a description or anything else. I know it's going to be emotional and beautiful and a sweeping love story.

After months of being a Broadway understudy, Neevah Saint finally has her moment to shine on the big stage. And shine she does in front of the right people - that she doesn't even know are there to watch her. Infamous film director Canon Holt is in the crowd and after six months of painstaking auditions for the lead of his next movie, he knows as soon as he sees Neevah that she is meant to play Dessi Blue. Before she can catch her breath, things are moving at light speed and so are emotions. Neither Neevah or Canon can fight the pull between them, but the stress and pace of it all could halt things just as quickly as they began.

It was hard for me to find time to read this one with everything going on in life at the time, but one night I got to sit down and just devoured 200+ pages. That's what this book does. It is all consuming and emotional and everything Ryan is known for. If you haven't read one of hers, what are you waiting for???

This might be my favorite romance novel ever. It combined my two favorite things: a believable romance and history. I loved the way that the Dessi Blue script was woven into the storyline. The love between Neevah and Canon is everything I could want. The second documentary he makes about her battle with lupus made me tear up. I learned so much about old Hollywood and lupus as well. Bravo Kennedy Ryan! And the playlist at the end was just a great touch!
