As always, Kennedy Ryan dials the spice to perfection. Their forbidden love burns with heat, making every stolen moment feel messy, magnetic, and deeply real. I fell in love with all the characters, even the side characters and the historical ones. But what makes this story truly unforgettable is the exploration of love, legacy, and art through a lyrical love story. From the beginning, I was swept up into the cinematic scenes and dual timelines.
Real-life challenges like racism, chronic illness, and ambition are tackled with raw honesty and grace in this story. It’s not just a romance; it’s a love letter to Black creatives, past and present. I can’t wait to see where this Hollywood Renaissance series goes. I was a little intimidated to start this book because of its size and the fact that it’s yet another new series on my ever-growing list. But wow, was I wrong. It’s absolutely worth it!
