Definitely on my list of top 5 favourite books of all time. I absolutely love Roald Dahl. I probably read this book several times as a child, and plan to read it several more times with my children, along with RD other books.

I enjoyed reading and listening to this book immensely.It plunged me back to my childhood,I felt as if I am a child again reading a book appropriate for my age.
At first, I listened to the audiobook which has a wonderful reader, so I listened to some chapters twice or more. Later, I found out that it was abridged,so I read the book,too.
I love Matilda.

I just listened to BBC dramatization of this book,what can I say?? I am just speechless,it is fantastic! Even better than the movie,or the normal audiobook.
Lenny Hennry,the narrator did a great job,I don't know what to say,the way it was dramatized,just made it way more interesting! All the cast were wonderful!
I still love Matilda! After one year!

Matilda is one of the best children protagonist of all time.
She's an avid-reader, pretty amazing at mathematics and got some awesome telekinesis skills!
So, look out! She's onto you.
The story itself was like a huge satire.. from narrow-minded people to total evil craziness!
Anyway, I actually really liked the story. Definitely recommend it for the more 'open-minded' ('wink-wink').

🧠 My thoughts
I really liked the strong and smart Matilda, she was such a character. The storytelling was intriguing and made me want to know what was next. The ending was very wholesome in my opinion.
However, although I understood that the book wanted to show the cruelty and abuse that adults usually do to children, those parts were too descriptive to the extent that I felt like this shouldn’t be labeled as a children’s book.

A perfect children’s book. The nostalgia is crazy. But so much of it is so real especially about families etc it made me really emotional:(((
