This series is not one of my favorites, but the little one seemed to like them. I found the books to be dull and stereotypical. It likes to pretend that it's subversive... but it really isn't. What's especially frustrating is that it constantly seems like it might throw some wrinkles into things, but it never seems to. The art is quite nice, though.

These books are adorable, I've been trying to read more early chapters so I can make better recommendations for my young patrons. I will 100% be recommending this series to kids that are superhero or princess fans as it offers plenty of the action and tropes of both in a very cute package.

This is a cute series. My 6 year old and I listened to the book while we looked through an actual book. Trying my hardest to get her interested in reading and the worlds it can take you to.

These are sweet little stories I'm reading with my girls during our daily commute. I love Shannon Hale, and look forward to finishing the series together!

These books seem to have a tough time finding their footing.

Sometimes they seem like their target audience is preschool. Sometimes mid-elementary. I enjoyed some of the concepts, but some of the writing just seems drafty. Like someone is telling these stories out loud for the first time - not that they've been written and re-written and cleaned up. I'm not sure what it is.

But they are fun. And I like the concept.

I read this collection as an audiobook. The idea of having a princess be a secret superhero who has to hide the superhero part of her life from her princess life is a cool concept. I think it could have been done better. There were twists and decisions that I liked in this collection but I thought there needed to be something more. The fact that there is a rule that princesses do not wear black is strange among some of the other choices. I could see this idea being a wonderful animated TV series.

Cute story. Not the most thought through name for the horse...that wasn’t great. No great theme but I like that it shows her being both frilly and ultra fem and fighting.
