3.8 ⭐️ I read this over the course of a few months because the beginning of the book was too slow and not exciting enough for me. I kind of liked the characters but they had some really weird conversations somehow sometimes and I couldn't really feel their love for each other. So the chemistry was not the best and I didn't like what Jack was saying half of the time.

I feel like Jack Hawthorne is gonna be my next book boyfriend
lighthearted slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I truly hated this book. It was so long, the plot was predictable, and the writint was very objective, almost clinical.
I could rant a lot about the things I did not like, but I will keep myself short with my top three: 1. Jack Hawthorne is an manipuative, surly ass. I could name a lot of examples but
that he kept pretending to forget Owen’s name
drove me especially mad. 2. Jack‘s behavior is inconsistent.
If he wanted to be close to Rosw, why did he keep talking about keeping her at an arm‘s length?!?!
3. Why is there a random medical drama in this plot? It does nothing for the plot and was just exhausting.
They had already agreed to start officially dating before that.
Also, as someone who struggles with medical and needle phobia, I truly hated how that part was done.
Writing this now, I question why I finished this book. The only positive I can say are the side characters and that I actually kinda like Rose as a character.

funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

they're like the couple who make out in the highschool hallways at 7am in the morning . other than that pretty ok and sweet book

It's a good book. An accurate representation of the grumpy x sunshine trope. I wonder if the author named the main character girl Rose after the cashier in "You've Got Mail" or if it was just random?

Sorry but I´m a huge fan of slow burn but I didnt find it here. I didn´t find any chemistry at all between the characters and sometimes the internal dialogues were too much.

Maybe it was no my time and I will try later another book from this author.

I always have this negative feelings toward a book with real human on its cover. Idk why, but this time I ignore it and try to read this one.

The plot is predictable, but I don't really care anymore about plot these days. Maybe this book isn't my cup of tea. The dialogue, I find it too cheesy. And this book is so long, omg 500 pages?!? I think the writer want it to be slow burn or something but it didn't turn out well for me. Especially when the truth comes up, the way they solve and Jack end up want to divorce with some unrational reason, it really put me off to the point where I don't even read the smut:)

There're two point of views from the lead characters, but I don't really like it for some reasons. Usually I really like this. I don't really see any character development here or anything except their love story. This is grumpy x sunshine trope I think, but Jack, he isn't only grumpy but simply rude at the beginning, yikes. Idk, i don't even feel any butterflies while reading this
