Worth reading to the ending. Though said ending might feel anti climactic, once you let it sink in its terrifying and masterfull.

Great fun, short read! I love these tiny editions of short fiction by Galley Beggar Press, and can't wait to read more of them!

My liking for Victorian horror is becoming concerning.

As for the story, it's basically a loose retelling of Burke/Hare murders where they murdered people who supposedly would not be missed and sold their bodies to Knox for the purpose of scientific research. While this is fictitious, this is based off of that--literal body snatching occurs.

The story is about a collective defective moral compass, but the interesting bit is that it was a reality. There are some elements of guilt which explains the ending.

The eeriness of this story sent me and the ending was surprising--both of which are yays.
