The audiobook with a full cast was fantastic. I really enjoyed getting to know all od the  characters. The interview style of the book was fun and different.
I liked that Billy's daughter ended up being the author. I just wish there had been a little more between Daisy and Billy. It felt like a lot of build up, they nearly shared one kiss, then after that it was just dirty looks until the end of the novel when bam, they are both admitting they loved each other. I like Camilla and am glad Billy chose his family. But for him to say he loved Daisy, and she loved him, I guess I would have appreciated more descriptions of moments they shared where that love stemmed from.

"But music is never about music. If it was, we'd be writing songs about guitars. But we don't. We write songs about women."
For the first 100 pages, I compared The Six and their dialogue to Motley Crue in "The Dirt". Once I saw it, I simply could not unsee it. I saw Daisy as Stevie Nick's like everyone else does, and then I saw her as Amy Winehouse. The author may or may not have been inspired by real people, however the further I read, I decided that readers assign her characters to real people because she makes her characters with such depth and complexity that we believe they are real.
The only likable character in the entire book is revealed to be unreliable towards the end. However, the characters, as terrible as they are, do not make the story difficult to read.
With all of that said, I did not like the story as a whole. I wanted to so badly. It is just not for me. Then why four stars? Because it is still an incredible book. The story telling keeps you hooked. I know it's odd, it is a first time for me. Usually, disliking a book means that the author did something I did not like; that is not the case. I do not like the story, but the way she told it and the characters she built to tell it are incredible.
This is my first book by Taylor Jenkins Reid and I cannot wait to read more.

Daisy Jones is a book that I feel lived up to the hype. It’s a really fun, quick read that still gives you a lot to think about. I really liked the interview style it’s written in, which I thought was pretty unique. I liked that we got to see each character’s story and their thoughts. The characters were complicated and I loved them and I hated them at different points. The roles of the female characters in the book were so important to me. I would recommend this to anyone drawn to the glamour and drama of a 70’s rock band or someone who’s looking to get out of a reading slump.
