The narrators’ performance was fantastic, but this book felt like it went on forever and the ending climax wasn't dramatic enough to really keep me interested. It took me so long to finish because I had to force myself to pay attention to it because I really didn’t want to. I don’t really get the hype behind it 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I thought this book was interesting but it's a like not a love for me. The format of the book, written like an oral history, was interesting but got disjointed at times. It also made it impossible to switch between audiobook and ebook like I prefer.

I liked the fact that the characters who had
passed away didn't have interviews and I'll be honest I didn't even realize Teddy hadn't had one until it was revealed that he passed away. I think that was clever and also a mark of how realized his character felt even through the voice of others.

I think the part that fell flat for me was the ending being so much about
Camila.
Like I guess that makes sense looking back but for me that was the least interesting part of the whole story. And the fact that
Julia is the author was cute I guess but I think it means that more stuff probably happened between Billy/Daisy that we never actually get told because why would anyone tell this kid writing a book after her mom died that.

Not sure I'll watch the show, I like the lyrics and the scenes of them writing the album a lot and heard that is toned down more in the book which lessens my interest for now

I listened to this on audiobook while reading along and it definitely raised my ranking, since the audio has a full cast with different narrators for each character's dialogue. I liked the novelty of the story being told through an interview format, but ultimately I do think this story would work better for a screen adaptation because you'd get to see the drama play out and see them actually perform the rock songs that are described so well. I will have to watch the tv series for this that just came out and see! But it was a fun drama-filled read all around.

This is the kind of book that will keep you turning pages. Every page I read, I wanted to know what would happen next.

I haven’t read a book like it before, so it is hard to describe. I think what makes it so good to read is the characters and the tightly written narrative. No character is uninteresting, and the way Reid is able to make a story in this interview format is so interesting.

It will make you laugh, and it will make you sad. I would really recommend it
