This was a re-read for me and I loved it just as much, if not more the second time around!
I listened to the audio book which was fabulous and made the story that much better, if that is possible. I read my way through Fredrik Backman's books last summer and they were splendid. I see myself revisiting all of his wonderful books this summer too in anticipation of his latest which comes out this September. I am not sure if authors ever read their reviews, but, if you read this Mr. Backman, thank you so much for getting me! Your stories speak to my heart and I find myself in most of your books. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I think Backman might be a one hit wonder for me. I loved Ove, but every book since hasn’t hit home. This one especially I really trudged through. I found myself getting confused and muddled in the details of the Land of Almost Awake. I also felt like it was pretty slow paced and boring until close to page 300. I kept wondering, when is this going to pick up? The character development was too slow for me to get attached and I just found myself continually checking how much more of the book was left.
