The longest book I read this year. Too many descriptions unrelated but i think that's how they write murder/crime mystery back then. i do like dolan and stacey bickerings. it really took the last 10 pages to know who killed the jane doe.

Another great read, as usual.

Based on an actual unsolved homicide that occurred in Santa Barbara County in August 1969, this tale was an intriguing tale of murder. So much action and excitement. This is one of the tops in the Alphabet series.

What good times I have had over my life reading Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries. I love the character of Kinsey Millhone; I identify with her so much. In this mystery, Kinsey is contacted by an almost retired detective from the Santa Teresa Police Department. He and another retired detective want to redo a cold case from 18 years ago. A young woman's body was found in a quarry nearby, which is also nearby Kinsey's grandmother's land. Using her patience and her single-minded tracking skills, Kinsey solves the crime of who this young woman was.

The story that Sue Grafton gives in the end of the book is that this was based on a true story. Sue Grafton under wrote the cost of the artist who reconstructed her likeness using her mandible and Mandilla. They took the body out of the ground, and had her re buried with a small ceremony. So far, no one has surfaced with any information of who this young woman was, based on photographs included in the book of the artist's likeness.

What Nostalgia these books bring to me after so many years.

Not a bad story--reminded me of Cold Case which I enjoy when I get a chance to watch it.
