I found it boring and in fact i didn't really finish the book.

I stumbled upon this book through my local ebook library and decided to take a chance because it was available now. It's always hit or miss when I do this, but this one wasn't that bad!

Lerangis starts this book off with a hook that had me curious and hungry for more. It was a little slow to answer the main question of "what the heck is going on?" and then still slow as it worked to build up the world, but then the action came along and it was a quicker paced, enjoyable read.

I have seen a lot of comparisons to Percy Jackson (which I didn't know about before I borrowed this book) and if you have heard that, do not go in expecting that level of wonder. This book does not have that. It's still enjoyable, but no Percy Jackson.

Overall, the story of Jack and these other special kids kept me entertained and curious enough to search out the next book at some time, but I'm not going to do it in haste by any means.

Yay, another series! Can you sense my sarcasm? This is the debut of a series about a group of teens who have been marked by a special bond with their Atlantis ancestors, and find themselves in the middle of a war. The group that saves them, and helps them learn how to acquire their 'super powers' tells them they are the good guys. The bad guys are also searching for the ancient power sources of Atlantis. The group of 4 teens must figure out how to save themselves and who is actually on their side. Lots of action with a dose of humor. For the kids who love Rick Riordan or 39 Clues, this would be a great series for them.

Loads of fun, very fast, very action-packed. Recommend for fans of Percy Jackson!

It took awhile for me to get into this story, but once I did, I quite enjoyed this read. Enough to pick up the second book in the series.

EDIT: I have decided that middle-grade just isn't my bag. So I am DNFing the rest of the series. I just have no interest in continuing.

I'm going to give this series another shot and read the second book. This book wasn't horrible, but it didn't captivate me the way Percy Jackson did.

To much for little kids, not fast enough

I don't think this is the next Percy Jackson, definitely not the next Harry Potter. This book is okay though, more of 3.5 now that I thought about it. A very light read, with light adventures.

Rick Riordan but with less dad jokes.
