Decent read if you fancy some highlander romance with a dash of mystery/suspense.

So I won an advanced copy of this one, so that does mean I read it out of order. But I'm a huge Lynsay Sands fan, and if you like historical romance she is the writer for you! Murine has had a pretty horrible two years. After loosing both parents, two full brothers and two half brothers along with her rightful inheritance and home, you could say that she doesn't have anything left to loose. You would be wrong because her remaining half brother Montrose decides to rent her out like a pimp in exchange for two horses (because he gambled his own away to the King of England). Luckily, he decides to trade her to a Scotsman who owes her a favor for saving his sister's life who helps to keep her safe through a series of disasters. Dougall realizes that the only way to keep Murine safe is to marry her and figure out who is trying to kill her. If you like a lot of adventure to go with a cute romance, this is a great romp!

This was a simple historical romance book with an average Storyline and plot, although I did really like the characters especially the main female characters and the plot twist with the Half profile. This was really good and I will be reading more of the Highlanders series

The 4th installment in the Highlander series, this one tells Murine Carmichael's story.

Murine is saved from her horror of a half brother by Dougall and his brothers. On their way accompany her to Saidh's home, Murine and Dougall find themselves more than a little interested in each other.

I loved Maurine's character. Even though she is prone to fainting at the slightest, she still has the courage to save others from harm. With all the loss and pain that she survived, she could have been angry and bitter, but she stayed as sweet as ever.

While I enjoyed this book it's not as good as the others in the series.

Ruined gowns, swooning, kidnapping, rescuing, tartan, and mishaps while looking for somewhere to pee in the woods. All and all a fine way to celebrate my newfound Scottish heritage. The audiobook is a great way to enjoy the accents, although I always feel embarrassed for the narrator during the smoochy parts.
