After Evie’s parents disappeared, Evie has been living with her aunt Desdemona for the last few years.

Evie suffers from anxiety - a LOT of anxiety. But she still loves a good horror story, and often follows aunt Des on her ventures to rid the town of supernatural disturbances.

But when aunt Des is called out on a mission to the old slaugterhouse, something about it all freaks Evie out.

And then aunt Des disappears - and Evie must face the CLACKITY.

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of «Coraline» meets «Alice in Wonderland» - search no more!

Dark, heartbreaking and spinechilling, this is a middle grade book about having to find your courage when you’re left with nothing and no one, and have to face all your darkest fears at once.

Somehow I often find middle grade/YA horror to be MUCH more terrifying than adult horror.

Also, this is best read/listened to RIGHT before falling asleep.

Spooky, thrilling, and fun! and the mention of John Bellairs's books in this was an awesome touch.
