I'm almost obsessed with books about the food industry, not sure what that means.

I got to page 92, about 30% done. At first I thought this was going to be easier to read than some of the other dry, repetitive, overly lengthy food industry documentary-style books that I've read. And it was, for a while. But then it became dry, repetitive and overly lengthy. I did very much enjoy the movie, however, and I appreciate and understand the message that is being sent. I guess I just need this sort of information in a 2 hour visual format. Onto The Girl Who Played With Fire and Medium Raw!

Great read. Still waiting to see the movie but I really enjoyed the book. A collection of essays on different topics related to modern food production.

In some ways it felt a bit alarmist . . . "experts" in the field writing essays about the crises threatening their field or the importance of their field. I do believe that we need better food regulations, and I try to feed my family as organic, "clean," safe, and unprocessed as we can afford, but this just wasn't the book I was looking for. I recommend "Fast Food Nation" and then picking up "Food Inc." for the very last section. You'll get the "corporate agribusiness is bad, small farmers are good" in a more interesting format and still know changes you can make to do your own bit of good in your community and family.

Love the multiple essays, but it's not a book you can sit and read for hours.
