This is, unfortunately, not enjoyable. The characters are too unlikeable and fight every other page. And I don't understand enough of where the story is supposed to be going, other than they were given a quest by a weird shape-shifting dog. Idk.

There's some potential in this comic, but the execution was lacking. I like that the girls were drawn not to be mainstream pretty, that they were unlikable, and that two of them were working class. I also think the concept (modern day delinquents charged with recovering King Arthur's sword) is cool. But the characters lacked nuance, the dialogue was repetitive, the art needed colour, and it was trying to be funny and not succeeding.

A little underdeveloped both in story and character development. Like I got to the end of this and I don't really understand who these characters are and why they are even bothering being on the quest. Almost too episodic and not enough to tie everything together. The art is fine, wish it had been in color but can't hold that against it. That said it is an adventure story featuring some pretty awesome ladies, I just wish I knew more about them and their motivations.

I liked the premise of this, but I did not like any of the characters. Their unlikeablity really distracted from the the plot.

Did anything really happen in these 160 pages that could have been done in 10? Not really. No character growth, no plot development, nothing interesting going on. Seems like an interesting, but ill executed, premise.

Collection of a webcomic series. Not my cup of tea, despite my love of stories with fairy tale or mythological references. The main characters aren't particularly likeable, which is part of the story, disparate personalities (kind of) pulled together to possibly be the good guys, or possibly be the bad guys, neither the reader or the characters completely sure.

It was fine, and I'll likely read other volumes if I stumble across them, but I won't seek them out.

Good for teens who like "delinquents" as the main characters, mythological references to King Arthur, magic, and stories where misunderstood or rebellious teens get magical powers.

I liked the premise, but the amount of time spent on the characters arguing was ridiculous. I get it. They don't get along. Couldn't we get a little more camaraderie by the end?

Counted as my Panels Read Harder fantasy category.

4 girls who do not understand how to work together are given rings by a talking dog (who can also turn into a man). These rings give them special powers. The dog wants them to get a stolen sword back (Excalibur).
Illustrations are all in black and white. They are very clear and detailed; it's easy to tell the characters apart, but I think they would benefit from color. The characters are all quite annoying in their own ways: they won't stop picking on the 12-year-old, they don't listen to each other; they fight with each other instead of working as a team...
Meh.

These are not misfits, they are a$$holes. These characters are hard to like. None of them appear to have any redeeming qualities. The story itself is not terrible, but, if I didn't already own the next two books, I would probably not consider picking them up.
