3.5 stars. The poetry like format was interesting and made for a fast easy read. The story was good and you felt everything Pattyn was going thru.

I wish I had read it in hardcover to better appreciate the poetry font at times. But so worth reading. It was an unexpectedly pure telling of a teenage girl’s changing perspective and responses to a life often beyond her control but sometimes joyful. Very worth reading and I suspect this one will stick with me for a while.

Hopkins always tells it like it is. That said, the harsh reality of this ending shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. I stayed awake thinking about it. Though that is one of the great things about Hopkins' books - they always, always, always make you think.

In short, Burned is Romeo & Juliet for modern day America.

I think that was the most heart breaking Ellen Hopkins book I've read.

This book was amazing... so far, my favourite Ellen Hopkins book. However, the ending seemed rushed and it was really upsetting. That almost ruined the book for me, and would have if it had been drawn out. Overall, the beginning and middle were amazing; it was just the last few pages that held this book back from being a 4 for me.

This is one of my favorite books by Ellen Hopkins. This one, as well as Identical, had amazing characters that were easy to connect with.

I didn't like how the end was carried out.
