Oh my god. I honestly can't speak right now. I just can't even. no.
It’s no secret that Ellen Hopkins writes intense, disturbing books, and Burned is no exception. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it since I wasn’t the biggest fan of Crank, but Pattyn was a strong main character. Although my thoughts fluctuated throughout the book, the ending was a lot and now I need to read the sequel.

This was a really well-written book with a unique style. I loved the book, but it was terribly depressing.

This was a reread for me. I read this first as a teen and now touched base with it again. I feel like Hopkins is always very vague with her endings. Or possibly my young brain couldn’t understand and my older brain is reliving through that.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Child abuse, Gun violence, Mental illness, Grief, Religious bigotry, Car accident
2024-This is a reread for me. Now that it has been a while, I still think the ending was a cop-out, but the story is there and deserves a better rating. I give it 3 1/2 Stars.
2011-I wanted to put that I loved this book and thought it was amazing, but THE ENDING PISSED ME OFF! It was a total cop-out ending and I hate those. The character was great to read, but the ending was just the author's way of ending the book. It wasn't even worth it in the end. There was so many different ways to end the book. I am not saying a happy ending was best, but still. This one was just crap.
