I was glad that the collection started with The End of Summer because that one was my least favorite of the three longer comics. I Love This Part and A City Inside were both so good. I also liked getting to look at Walden’s earlier works and learning about her artistic influences.

Tillie Walden will probably forever be one of my favorites because I love her art style. It's so unique. You see a graphic novel by her and you know it's hers almost immediately. And getting to see how that style changed over time? Amazing. I loved the little notes she included as well, talking about her own process as an artist and how she was influenced while she was creating.

I don't know why it took me so long to read this particular collection, but I love that all her early work is together in one place. Something I definitely need to add to my own graphic novel collection, and I don't know why I haven't yet!

There's so much emotion in this book, even though some of the stories are short. For sure something I want to revisit again in the future!

Tillie Walden is one of my favourite authors so as expected I really enjoyed this. This includes her first three graphic novels and some of her early comics and It was really interesting seeing how her style has developed since. There are so many stunning pages and I love the way she draws architecture. There were a few times where I found the story of The End Of Summer hard to follow but the illustrations were so beautiful that I was happy to go with the flow. I still haven't read Are You Listening? and while I'll be sad that I'll then have read all her books, I think I'll get round to it soon.
