You know when your friend has been in a situationship for like a year with a man who doesn’t even like her? And she won’t take any of your advice. Yeah that’s this book. It’s incredibly frustrating. You can see the choices that should or shouldn’t be made and girlie always picks the wrong option.

I loved Edith but also she deserved so much better!!!! Let her go dude. I love and hate a protagonist villain and that truly was Ava.

I enjoyed the writing style, hated the plot choices. But it’s realistic of human error. Especially being 22-23!! It’s so messy!!!

I could write my own review, but honestly this review completely sums it up for me. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3155803030?book_show_action=false&from_review_page=1

First review of the year let’s go :

To say this has been on my tbr for 2years was a pain but finally I read it I said I wasn’t gonna take this book into this year with me and I meant it especially after being in a slump near the end of the year after hitting my initial goal of 100 books (very stoked btw)

This book was mundane the storyline was normal the drama present in the initial writing that Ava puts into her two relationships with Edith and Julian

It was a normal quintessential self discovery story with morally flawed characters which I love it was predictable at times irritable and very much how life and relationships feel at first exciting but after a while you know what to expect of yourself and your feelings and I loved it

And I don’t think until this book I’ve read an accurate representation of bisexuality at least for me I know each person’s experiences are different and while I can’t say I had the exact same as Ava it reads how it sometimes feels

And that was nice I could relate to Ava personally and not in the good ways sometimes

There was a few things missing yeah that stopped it from being a five just some themes and ambiguity I wished were explored

But I could probably guarantee if I read this in my early twenties I will probably have a better more perceptive view

However I did love the slightly ambiguous ending that

*SPOILER*

Hints at her realisation to not go with Julian and grow in a relationship with Edith vv much appreciate that thanks Dolan x

All in all good start to a year of reading and I hope 2022 is better and shocks me in reading:))
