I really enjoyed this collection of YA, queer-friendly, vampire short stories. I liked all the tales, which is rare for a compilation, but Cordova and Parker did a great job compiling. Unsurprisingly, Roanhorse and Schwab are standouts, but Whaley and Ahmed were also very good.

This was super fun! Got through these stories fast and really liked them:)
I think everyone gives a lot of love to the V.E Schwab story but…. It wasn’t my favorite! Lots of the other stories I liked more. They all deserve some love
Gay cowboy vampires! I need more thnx

I dislike vampires very much & yet I immensely appreciated this anthology about vampires.
I loved Samira Ahmed's story.
The one I thought was the most impactful was Kayla Whaley's story, which is about disability & "mercy killings" & parental abuse & how it is viewed by society, how the press & the justice system are very much biaised toward the parents & how little the lives of people deemed disabled are deemed worth, to the point that killing a person, without their consent or opinion on the subject is seen as a act of kindness & the pain of the parent is the one that people talk about when the kids are completely stipped of humanity, of dignity & they are deemed worthy of making decisions about their own lives.
Other people dictate what is a good live, what is too much pain, at which point they deem it is better to die than to live "like this", with pain, trauma or a disability.
This hits close to home, because it is often said of people who experiences things similar to the things I've experienced that they went through too much to every get better, be happy, have a good live, a live worth living, that is better, more human for our lives to end & so I very much enjoy the fact that the character is Whaley's story was able to speak her truth & say that she valued her live.

Really enjoyed this anthology centered around vampires! The stories were diverse and queer, which was an extra level of fun. As with most short story collections, I enjoyed some more than others. But overall, it’s a super solid collection.
