Had to read for work, kind of a silly book but rip to George who seems like a genuinely wonderful person.

These team building books always sort of bore me, but this one was a quick read and more entertaining than others. A little odd to me how much the idolize George, but I guess you had to know him. I do think it was a good reminder to just be good and do good. Be a kind person.

At the end of each school year, we are given a different Jon Gordon book to read over this summer. Most of Gordon’s books are fables so I was interested in this as it was based on a real person. The book is filled with 21 lessons on becoming a great teammate. Pursue excellence, WD>WS, and love your team are ones That resonated the most with me.

This reads like a long eulogy that does more to dehumanize George, whom the author puts on a glorified pedestal. Comments on things about most kids changing in college but George didn’t is not the compliment the author thinks it is. Perhaps coming from a background in psychology gives me a different perspective, but I’m mostly wondering what George’s early life traumas were. (No disrespect intended to George, who may actually have been a wonderful human).
The chapters are tiny and repetitive.
My 15 year old lacrosse captain enjoyed it.
