The book was quite good but the whole time reading it I wanted to know how Fannie handles the news when she finally gets it.
That's the one thing missing, seemed important.

This is one of those books that I recommend going in blind. So, that said, here is a brief breakdown: secrets, lies, tragedy, romance, 1934 in Atlantic City.
There were so many wonderful characters (and one I'd like to throat punch). The ethical lines crossed leave me baffled. I could not fathom the repercussions. The argument between the decision being right or wrong is questioned in the book, which made it more palatable for me.
This is a family saga, which can be very hit or miss for me. The characters were well developed, which is saying a lot as there were seven POV's. I found it was slow in some parts, and the chapters were unbearably long for me (20-30 pages).

One of my favorites so far this year, and based on a true story. Great characters. Gussie broke my heart into pieces repeatedly. The taffy. The seahorses. This one will stick with me. Highly recommend.
