I read this out of curiosity because I’d seen the
breastfeeding scenes
discussed on the romance books subreddit. But ironically it wasn’t steamy/detailed enough for me, and I found all the medieval politics/fighting quite dull and the emotional connections superficial 🤷‍♀️

Too much telling. Anachronistic. Juvenile characters.

the over-explaining and infodump-y style of the prose was getting annoying

Ya know what, this was sweeter than I thought it'd be. Spicy and cute.

Please read the trigger warnings!

Woman's husband dies and tragically her baby dies in childbirth in the same time frame. Her husband's bestie isnbadly injured and the (super modern actually) doctor suggests using her breastmilk as he won't be able to Digest much. So starts their relationship. A drama filled knight comes and ruins their whole vibes too.

This book is told in multiple POVs within the chapter, sliding from one person to another. I actually like this kind of story telling but some people coculd find it difficult!

This was kinda cool but honestly I feel like trying to walk the line between historical accuracy and masculine persuits like sweat (mentioned multiple times lol) and fighting and then the romance as well just meant neither was deep enough for me. I love a good long historical romance that's well researched, and I know it's possible.

Contains breastfeeding kink which was a bit of fun.

It's not a super sex heavy book at all. It's fairly light on the erotic except for the breastfeeding kink.
