Before I start this review, I understand that Neil Gaiman has sexual allegations against him. I won't ingore that, but I'll be honest..I brought this book prior to those allegations going public, at the time I wanted to venture into reading Gaiman and Pratchett books, I lied before when I said I only had one Gaiman book in my collection, I do apologise.
I've owned a copy of this book for some time now, it's been buried for God knows how long amongst my collection and now i finally have an excuse to unbury it and give it a read.
After sitting through this book, I can't quite tell you what I read. Its a story of a ex-con who gets mixed up in myths and becomes a patsy, than gets fed up with gods. I think.
There is a lot going on, yet at the same time it feels as if nothing is happening.
I'll give it credit for being fast paced but honestly, I retained nothing.

this book was super long, but really good, like all his books. shadow was a really great character, as was his dad/wednesday.

I really like this book. It’s long and has so many characters to keep track of, but I found that the plot kept my attention and all of the characters were interesting and gripping in their own way. You could also treat this like some sort of allegory if you really wanted to lol. Points off bc the author is a freak 👎🏼
I loved this book!! One of my favorite books I’ve ever read! The story of Shadow, his journey across the US meeting all the gods of America, is incredible and Neil Gaiman is the best person to write it! His book about the Norse myths was fantastic and I feel his deep understanding of the characters in those myths and others he’s studied made this an even better read!!
I love Neil Gaiman and his style. He writes such interesting, good and dark characters. Super glad I listened to it on Audible, the voice acting was top notch.
