Nothing like a long road trip for a long audiobook. It’s such a beautiful story and it has been a while since I read the Two Towers. Andy Serkis’s voice is still phenomenal and I can’t imagine anybody else being Gollum any more.

Yall already know. Really fucking good.

I really liked this book it was much better than the first one the pace was so much better the story was not all over the place it flowed at a pretty good pace. I really liked all of the main characters but the one I liked best were Legolas and Gimli and their growing camaraderie I also really liked Merry and Pippin and their part of the story. The plot moved along pretty well picking up right where book one left off with some of the characters going after others with a couple others getting out of the situation they were in and finally back to the ring bearer and a couple other characters on their way to destroy the one ring. So overall I really enjoyed this book still like the movies better but this is a really good book will finish the last book soon.

Still as good as the first time I read it!

Is there a lack of female characters in this book? Yes! Do I think it's sexism, not really?!
Tolkien did spend most of his life surrounded by man and he got inspiration from war, where women at the time took no part in it, so If there is something to blame, I say society is to blame.

Also, Galadriel kicks ass.

*I will write my review once I finish rereading the whole series*

I loved this. It's the book where we get to spend so much time with Gollum and I completely forgot that Frodo was not as big of an asshole as he is in the movie when he sends Sam back, it never happened in the book. Their friendship is so pure and lovely and I'd love to have a Sam in my life and be a Sam for them.

Tolkien is really heavy on descriptions and I swear I have to start looking up in the dictionary all the words he uses to paint the terrain around our protagonists. And I do feel it's tiring at times, do we really care how that portion of the slope looked? Just say it was slippery, difficult, or dangerous and get on with it.

it didn't take away from my enjoyment though, I ate it up. It's a 4.5, but again, I just can't go to 4.
