I am forever obsessed with this series! Lisbeth is my ultimate "heroine", and Larsson's writing style is incredible; it's fast-paced but he is still able to pay close attention to details. Of the series, this is definitely the most action-packed. It is also where as a reader you get to know Lisbeth on a whole different level. She became a real person for me, through discovering everything that made her who she is.
A solid thriller. Not quite as idiosyncratic as the first one (also not as tightly story-edited), but more murderous fun with interesting characters. I guess this means I'm reading the third one, too...
I loved the second installment, I thought there was much more action and intrigue. The writing is superb.

I like Larsson for not pulling any punches. No lovely happy endings with all loose ends tied together. He doesn't leave you hanging, though. Can't wait to read the last one.
I couldn't put this one down. I found it less...troubling than the first and I thought the plot was revealed in a much more compelling and even way. I began to understand and believe what I've heard about Larsson, that he's a man who was outspokenly against violence against women and the guardianship system in Sweden. I didn't see it in the first one (too salacious?), but this one, the lesser characters were excellent studies of believable personalities that provided depth and complexity to these issues. I'm not giving it a total pass, but it's beginning to make more sense.
I really began to enjoy Larsson's writing style in this book. I loved that he included seemingly mundane details about clothing choices and food decisions-- it gave the narrative a higher sense of believability.
Though, without getting too spoilery, things skewed verrrry Kill Bill in this one. Did he see the films?...
I will definitely be reading book 3.

It is overall a thrilling story, but without plot holes. Some of the turns could use a little sharpening. Nothing major as to prevent my enjoying the book.
While I enjoyed this second work, it lacked the true grip of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I was missing Lisbeth through most of the book.
I enjoyed this book, there was a lot more background story about the main characters in this one, particularly it was more focused on Salander, which was good and i have come to like that character. But the best part of the first book was the good quality mystery that it revolved around, and since this was all about Salander it was lacking the pull of that central mystery in the last book. But i did enjoy it and am curious as to how the third book will play out.
