DID NOT FINISH

Even these short poems didn’t work for me. I liked the one about the two girls in the outfield, but then they started to either get gross or weird or boring.

I always really enjoy Sarah Kay’s poetry, she’s one of my favorites. Anytime I listen to, or read, her I go through a phase of wondering if I can write poetry.

Been waiting for another Sarah Kay book for so long, this was so good to read! Some poems didn’t land for me compared to her last book, but it was still a good read. 3.5!

A lovely collection, with some striking emotions and imagery. I enjoyed the mix of storytelling or more obviously structured poems with the stream-of-consciousness style of others. Some of my favorites were Raccoon, Worth Celebrating, Beginning is a Season, Praise My Tiny Kitchen, Pulling a Sarah, Orange, Sonnet for Pop, Unreliable, Tsubu, Jello, and The Poet Wakes in a Cold Sweat.
